The conventional life insurance business still thrived last year. Of the 59 life insurance companies, there are 10 players who have the fatest assets.
Based on the life insurance financial statements as of 2017, PT Prudential Life Assurance is still the largest asset business actor in Indonesia. As of the end of 2017, the joint venture company had assets of Rp 71.7 trillion.
Meanwhile in 2016, the company's conventional business assets were recorded at Rp 60.7 trillion. This means an annual increase of 18.1%.
In the next position there is a red plate life insurance company, PT Asuransi Jiwasraya which last year had assets of Rp. 45.68 trillion. Whereas in the previous year, the company's assets were recorded at Rp. 38.6 trillion.
The thinest link behind Jiwasraya is PT Asuransi Jiwa Manulife Indonesia which has assets of Rp. 45.63 trillion. This number increased by 13.7% from 2016.
Next, there is PT AIA Financial, which recorded assets of Rp 44.9 trillion in 2017, an increase of 25.7%. Followed by PT Asuransi Allianz Life Indonesia, whose assets grew 13.6% to Rp 33.3 trillion at the end of 2017.
PT Axa Mandiri Financial Services is in sixth position with assets of Rp 29.9 trillion. Then there is PT Indolife Pensiontama which has assets of Rp. 26.3 trillion.
While the next sequence is filled by PT Asuransi Simas Jiwa and PT Asuransi Jiwa Sequis Life, each of which has assets of Rp. 24.8 trillion and Rp. 18.7 trillion. The top 10 positions were closed by PT BNI Life Assurance whose assets reached Rp. 15.7 trillion.
Previously, Prudential President Director Jens Reisch said that the company had achieved positive results last year by pocketing a total premium revenue of Rp 26.8 trillion. This number is the highest in Indonesia.
"We see strong customer demand for life protection products, especially health protection and critical illness," Jens said some time ago.
